Creating social inclusion through community classes, services and local events

The Māngere East Community Centre was established in 1997 to serve people living in the local community.  We have provided before, after school and holiday programmes to support working families and caregivers ever since.  Our activities are run in partnership with other organisations, community groups and community members.  We provide community-led programmes and classes that aim to enrich peoples lives and respond to the changing needs in our community.  The Centre is open 9am - 6pm Monday to Friday.  Please feel free to drop-in and find out how to get involved. Phone 09 275 6161 for more information or to enroll in any of our community classes and programmes 'drop us a line' .

"I moved to New Zealand not knowing any English, I was in that situation for 40 years until I came here [to the Community Centre]. Now I work in the courts writing reports for lawyers and judges. I thought I was too old to learn, you're never too old to learn" - Literacy Student
“I share with others what has changed for my son because I did the course.  [Parents] might be less threatened if we share the impact on our children.”
